Flags of Our Fathers Review

I really wanted to like this movie, but couldn't due to the fact that Steven Spielberg has influenced Clint Eastwood to present that washed-out looking stuff that appeared in such movies as "Minority Report" and War of the Worlds". When is someone going to tell Spielberg that it looks like crap!

Barring that, since I almost walked out after seeing the film look that way, this film has driven me to the conclusion that I hate war films. The only good one apparently is "Full Metal Jacket". The fighting scenes were fine but the rest of the movie was muddled, confusing and sappy.

The acting was also fine, but it didn't seem to offset what was essentially a lesser rehash of "Saving Private Ryan".

Too bad.

Too bad indeed .. I didn't even know until earlier that Spielberg was involved in this, but it doesn't sound like he brought anything good to the project
