Cracked Magazine

Digging on the new "Cracked". Issue #2 is out now. I was one of the few people that actually liked the old "Cracked", but this is much better. Kind of like a mix between the old "National Lampoon" and "Maxim", so it's no longer a "Mad" imitation. I hope it does well, because I am kind of tired of the "Mad" format anyway. The artists they have nowadays aren't as good as the classic ones and the only reason I really buy "Mad" now is for Sergio Aragones and Al Jaffee and occasional appearances by Paul Coker.

"Cracked" on the other hand made no nods to the past except for a tiny John Severin-drawn logo of Sylvester P. Smythe from the old days. Otherwise, it's chock full of advice, reviews, and parodies all done photographically. It's inconsistent at times, but every humor magazine has been. Well worth picking up. I got the second issue at Barnes and Noble.
