I received an e-mail from Rhino Handmade saying that they are finally releasing all of Allan Sherman's recordings onto CD. However, the six disc limited edition box set costs $120! I have been clamoring for this for years, but this is ridiculous! Oh well. I guess the demand isn't there. I would wait for a used copy, but since it is a limited edition, there probably aren't going to be any.
I'll just sit back and salivate...

Hey Mark - that is a lousy move on their part (and I'm aware of how long you've waited for this particular goody). Perhaps after the die-hards have bought the box, they'll issue the single discs they way they did with the Grateful Dead's Golden Road box (If we're very lucky).
ReplyDeleteI have now seen the box set in person at Tower for $137!, and at Amazon for as low as $110, so there's hope I may get a set for under $100 at least.
